Lower back and leg pain turned out to be synovial cyst

I have been suffering from quite a bit of pain for the last month in my lower back and down my right buttock and right leg. I had tried Aleeve, Tylenol, heat, ice, exercising, stretching and all to no relief and actually it got worse. I know that a lot of the medicine we are on can cause joint and muscle pain and even sciatica so I figured it was from the medicine. Anyway, my MO ordered some MRIs on my back yesterday and I got the results today. I have a roughly 9 cm by 9 cm mass in my lower back that is a synovial cyst and not cancer. I will have to go see and orthopedic surgeon now to see what is next. I just wanted to bring this up because I know that there are a lot of others who have been experiencing pain in the same area and wanted to make sure people are aware that it may be something else and needs to be addressed. I also want to thank those that tried to help me find solutions to the pain. Has anyone else dealt with synovial cysts before? I wonder if a compromised immune system could have caused it to develop so quickly.

I'm feeling pretty low at the moment as a result of my back pain. I will try to research synovial cysts.
