Breast Pain and Fibroadenoma

I have a double Fibroadenoma joined with a stalk in my left breast. It was discovered five years ago after causing intense pain. It wasn't detected by the breast clinic doctor or mammogram but during the ultrasound. It was biopsied and two weeks later I was told it was benign. It has continued to rumble quite frequently but on Sunday erupted in constant pain which subsided Monday only to come back Tuesday. I managed to see my GP who examined me thoroughly. She said she could feel no lump nor see any changes to skin etc but the left breast felt slightly different to the right so has referred me as urgent to the breast clinic again. I felt my breasts after and they have always felt slightly different, the left being slightly firmer than the right. I have recently started HRT (February), come off the mini pill, started my periods again (I am 50!!) and had my dosage of HRT changed (a week ago). I'm wondering whether these hormonal changes could have cause the fibro to increase in size? I am worried sick that because the breasts feel different that something else is going on but trying to be positive and hope it's the HRT interfering with things. Any help or advice gratefully received.
