"Take Hormone Therapy Even If Your BC is Only 1% ER+"

Just got this line from my MO, and I've seen a few others say the same thing. I found a recent study that says that Tamoxifen for women with an ER positivity level of less than 10% does not significantly increase survival rates. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5407873/

Just wondering if anyone has seen any research that would actually support giving hormone therapy to women with lower ER positivity percentages.

BCat 40, I don't have information on that. But if your Oncotype score is low, or your ER/PR + percentage is low, I'd get the genetic test to see if you are a good or a poor metabolizer of Tamoxifen. No need to take something that won't really work for you.

I think some doctors have a rosy view of hormonal therapy. There's enough women for whom it really is like a sugar pill with no inconvenient life effects that doctors figure it's worth it to try it almost no matter what.
