Does anyone have any literature on which AI is the best? Exemestane? Letrozole? Arimidex?

I am so confused on these options and could use some help in deciding the best route. My MO says Amiridex is what I'll start on, but I have also read Letrozole is superior.

Please help!

It appears that there is no "best". If there was, everyone would be started on the same one. We're not.

Early studies did suggest that Letrozole might provide better results but subsequent studies have found no difference in disease-free survival between the AIs. Since the difference in the results, if any, is so small, it seems that the "best" AI is the one that you can tolerate best.

I'm about to start hormonal therapy with AIs as well. My MO told me it doesn't matter which one to start on as they are all very similar and effective. It would depend on which one would be tolerated better. I'm starting with exemestane. It seems like there are several good options.

Beesie is always spot on. My MO started me on Anastrozole because her patients reported fewer SEs with it. FWIW, tried Exemestane for a month just to see if my SEs changed at all. They really did not. I'm now back on Anastrozole and doing well with it.

P.S. Just anecdotally, I feel like I've read about more hair issues with Letrozole.
