TUG or an implant reconstruction

So I decided to go with a mastectomy. I had one 12 years ago with DIEP reconstruction and it turned out beautifully.

Now my stomach fat is no longer available and my PS said my inner thighs are a good source for TUG. I had my consultation before this craziness with COV19 , now he is reluctant to do a long surgery and started hinting about implants. Actually he is suggesting to put in TE and then exchange them later for a flap or an implant.

At the same time I am reading that TUG has more complications during recovery then DIEP since is is hard to keep compressed the same way because of the location. Apparently it will be hard to sit for a few weeks.

So now I am thinking maybe silicon implants are easier to do. I never considered them before and a lot of people on this board don't come back a few years later to let us know how they liked them.

Hence I am struggling with this decision and hoping to hear from some of you who had silicon gummy implants or TUG.

Thank you to all in advance

I have silicon implants and I love them. They've been in place 9 years now.

I have the Allergan 410 gummies, which are off the market now, but have had no problems. I know there are other silicon options out there.

    Hi MinusTwo,

Thank you very much for your reply ! I am leaning more and more toward silicon implants. I think it is a blessing in disguise hat my PS bulked at doing a flap right now. It gave me a chance to reflect and think about it.
