Via - It sounds like perhaps you have Post-Mastectomy Pain Syndrome. I, too, have experienced annoying manifestations of this syndrome. PMPS can present in many different ways, such as neuropathic itch, numbness and shooting pains among other symptoms. I found wearing a compression type bra to be somewhat helpful. I also have found some relief from PMPS by taking Gabapentin, prescribed by my MO for neuropathy in my hands. I hope you are able to find some relief soon.

But now I know what can be causing it! Thank you!!

hi! I am 10 years out with implants and started to get the itchiness again, only in one breast. Super annoying since you can’t feel it when scratching. Not sure why it’s starting over again. Benedryl helps with the itch. And I will try a compression bra like soulshine mentioned.

I only had this a little while after mx, thank goodness. A neurogenic itch is enough to drive you nuts. I found an ice pack helped a lot when the itching was making me want to tear into my chest. My surgeon said it was a sign of nerves healing. Hope things get better soon!
