Seroma 2 days after NSM

My mother had her nipple sparing mastectomy with axillary nodes dissection and tissue expander placement the last tuesday . On thursday morning I noticed in her breast skin a lump which feels like its filled with water and increased in size during that day then stopped , also a very tiny scratch with skin peeled off it is present near that lump . Her drains are still in , so I'm confused to why that occurred . The doctor instructed her to use a certain cream over the area which she already was using and to use a sports bra till her next appointment early the next week .

Has this occured with anyone ?
