How Are you doing? How are the side effects? I start the same dosage on Friday and I’m nervous. Are you getting the Faslodex as well? I hope all is well for you

Dont be nervous. Piece of cake. I'm on my 4th round and taking it with letrozole. Absolutely NO side effects. Had my petscan after 4 months last week and tumors have shrunk!!! It works! Hope it works the same for you!

Thank you so much. That really puts my mind at ease. I start on Thursday and when I read that list of side effects it really frightened me. I had a tough time with my chemo. Hoping this will be better. Again thank you.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but it appears that Ibrance quit working for me after two rounds. Great pet results in April, then tumor markers started to go up; CA27-29 now at 90, was at 48 in April, and 69 two weeks ago. Something is going on. It is either a new cancer altogether or the Ibrance quit working. I am hoping for the later, as the former would complicate treatment all the way around.
On a positive note, I have handled all chemo quite well; other than recent tumor markers going up, my WBC and RBC counts have been better than expected. I have yet to get into the "stay away from people" range (of course, with Covid, I am staying away from people anyway).
This is also like comparing apples to oranges. I have ILC, which is a different beast altogether. It goes where it wants and when it wants. To date, I have a spot on my liver and on my T-11. When I was first diagnosed with a recurrence, it was with multiple tumors in lymph nodes in my neck and chest, one of which is partially encasing my carotid artery. Fun, right?

This is encouraging. I am new to this support forum, and caregiver to my Mom who was diagnosed in May with MBC (she originally had a stage II tumor removed ~10 years ago, followed by chemo, radiation and 5 years of Arimidex) and a clean mammogram in August. It showed up with mets to many internal organs (including lung) and spine. Her oncologist was confident Letrozole and IBRANCE combo would be helpful but she's had SUCH a rough time since May with everything continuing to go downhill, trouble breathing. several visits to emergency room, two hospital admissions. She hasn't been able to eat and without taking in enough her potassium fell to dangerously low levels. Then in one of her hospital visits she broke the head of her femur and had to have a partial hip replacement so now she is also rehabbing from that.
In short, we are really struggling and I SO MUCH want her to feel better and she's so sick. Does anyone struggle with taking the large IBRANCE pills? SHe is about to start her second cycle today and on day 20 of her first cycle she nearly choked to death on the pill. DOes anyone take it with applesauce or something to help? That's how we take smaller pills like Letrozole.
She is exhausted and now she's sort of confused, I hope this is temporary and goes away as her cancer gets under control? Anyone else feel the same?
THANK you for any guidance and wishing everyone good health. Appreciate any advice about which forum to look in as this is my first visit. -
zeek_mama, I’m so sorry you’re mom is struggling. My husband takes pills with milk because he struggles to swallow them, so maybe she could do that.
I started on 125 mg and after one month went straight to 75 mg. Maybe that will be an option soon.
I hope she feels better soon.
