just curious of those who have been diagnosed with having Fibroadenomas? So far, I have had three. One 14 years ago which I had removed. Now I have two that they are watching, I'm 46. How long will they watch them for? They don't give me any problems unless I lay on my right side of my chest (I'm assuming it's from the fibro). Do they normally watch them for a certain time frame? I'm not liking the 6 month follow ups. Or should I possibly consider getting the one removed so that I don't have the constant testing and worry? (This one was questionable initially but the other they were confident it was a fibro).

The two that you have now - were they biopsied and confirmed to be fibroadenomas? I would think that would make a difference in terms of how long you are monitored.

I had a couple of fibroademonas, the first at 16 and the second at 20. They were huge so I had them both surgically removed, although I waited a few years before removing the second one.

yes, they were both biopsied last August. I just went for my 6 month follow up and they are still there-but then found microcalcifications which then also had to be biopsied (thankfully benign). It’s been so stressful. Now have three clips in right breast.

I was 56 at 1st mammogram. I know. Dumb. Also had a lump so knew it wouldn’t go well. Since I had no history they looked at everything. Dense breasts, lump was cancer. Two other spots on the left were cysts. Also had 3 biopsy’s on the right. 1st report was fibrodenoma 2nd was LCIS and fibrodemona. Then also had surgical excision on the right also LCIS and scalering adenosis. Excuse my spelling. I can only imagine what life would have been like if I started much earlier. Today, there is not much mention of the conditions in my right side at imaging. I suppose if no change and it’s been checked it is what it is. Sorry you are under surveillance but it is better to be vigilant in my humble opinion.

I agree! It’s interesting you mentioned having sclerosing adenosis. I reacently found my old pathology report from when I had the first fibroadenoma removed and it mentions sclerosis. This was back in 2007, I believe. Couldn’t really find much information on that.
