Unilateral Diep Flap done March 2019. Low Blood Pressure caused low blood flow and necrosis. Surgery 3 weeks later to remove necrosis and could not close incision so went home with wound vac for 4 weeks and then wet to dry packing. I healed well and in Aug I had phase 2. No issues. Dec 26th had phase 3. Jan 26th I became very red and it spread like a fire. Went to hospital and was admitted for cellulitis on flap left half of abdomen and left flank and back. .Cultures positive for Strep A in my blood. IV Antibiotics for 5 days and last day in hospital on oral amoxicillin 875 mg with Clavulanate Potassium 125 mg. Did 14 more days at home. Twenty days on antibiotics and 5 off of them and it started to come back. SO I am back on same oral antibiotic for 10 more days. Anyone else have this? Today I was red again but it cleared up. My blood work on Jan 31st was okay. No strep in blood. Why does it want to come back? I have red like pimples on chest in two places and I think that is where needles injected fat. I am afraid it is not going to stay gone once off antibiotics. Then if it does come back I see an Infectious Disease Dr.
