I didn’t really realize these until about 1 week ago but notice I have several brown flat dots on my areola part and noticed the color of my nipple has lost its pigment. Not sure if it’s moles. I know for sure I’ve never had these before. It’s flat. Dark brown. Scatter around my areola. I did try to nurse before but my baby didn’t latch on. Not sure if the nipple part lost it’s pigment from pumping? But also I didn’t pump for long. Maybe about 1 month. I don’t feel any lumps. I’m 28 Asian. Lately I’ve been getting this sensation where my breast gets this sting feeling. Almost the same feeling when your breast is engorge. Not pregnant for sure. Looked up my symptoms and a lot of topics pops up that links to Paget/ breast cancer. So worried. Any one else has this ? I have Appointment next week to see my OB.

In December my right nipple had a burning sensation I went to doc after waiting a while. She felt a lump and sent me for mammo and ultrasound. They were inconclusive and no lump seen but density in right breast. My nipple is still bothering me and I feel what feels like let down when nursing but not nursing. Was scheduled for punch bx today but gen surg looked and said it’s not Pagets. Nothing to biopsy. Might be brown spot. My nipple is a dark red. Not flaking skin. I’m 47. I’m disappointed as she left me with no answers and no remedy. I want a second opinion as there were two areas of concern on mammo and it will be repeated in 6 mos. so confused

roch - Stay persistent if you feel like something is not right. My DCIS did not show up on a mammogram or ultra-sound. My pagets was diagnosed by a dermatologist with a punch biopsy after weeks of over the counter creams and steroids. It was after that diagnosis that I had the breast MRI which revealed the DCIS under the pagets. To the naked eye my pagets was undetectable. I knew that it didn't feel right and that nipple was always more erect than the other. Trust your gut, see a dermatologist if you haven't or get a second opinion.

    Hi

I just so happen to be having my annual mammogram today. Yesterday I noticed my normally inverted nipple is now red and mostly out, it has a small area of white on it. This breast has been sore for a while and was being followed for some very tiny nodules near my armpit but last mammo showed the nodules had resolved. I am 59 and my mom and her mom both had breast cancer. Just a bit nervous I guess.

Grammy, see your doc. This could be something as simple as a Montgomery gland cyst. They are like sebaceous cysts (like a “cheesy” pimple)) but could certainly be sore or painful and possibly get infected.

I will keep an eye on it. The white scaly spot is directly on the nipple.

The nipple (areola) is where your Montgomery Glands are
