GRRR... Tamoxifen Weight Gain

Hey there. I know Tamoxifen has a ton of side effects and effects people differently. I know for some, it's made them lose weight.

BUT!!!! I've seen on here over the years that some of us have the same Tamoxifen Weight Gain story. Were thin for the most part then once we started feeling better it's like we gained 20 pounds overnight that will not budge.

Has anyone who had this problem figured out how to get the weight off???

I ate salad for lunch every day and increased exercise. My MO only laughed when I complained about weight gain and basically said I would was not going to be able to get rid of it while on meds. It did taper off though after a bit. I did end up gaining about 30 total over 10 years on meds. I figured a little weight with exercise ws better than getting breast cancer again! Good luck!

I agree. It's been the same. A total of 30 pounds over the 5 years so far. It's just sooooo annoying that after all the sick we went through, I feel like a fat f$&@. 😜

But, yes, we're in agreement. Better chubby and cancer-free. 😬

I gained maybe 15 pounds since I started Tamo less than 2 years ago and can't get it off. Every time I see my MO, she tells me I need to lose weight or be careful not to gain more. I think weight gain is dangerous in our situation....but it's so hard to lose weight.
