I had heart failure twice from herceptin. Has anyone had this and what was your next treatment. How long and where are your mets. I am 7 years survivor with bone lung and liver Mets

    Rainbow — I’m sorry, I can’t respond to your question. I’m trying to decide whether to begin Herceptin and have serious concerns about the heart damage side effects.

    Bone mets only discovered in Nov 2019 and first treatment was radiation to my acetabulum. Med Onc has recommended Tamoxifen and Herceptin.

    I have increasingly dilating pulmonary arteries. Cause unknown, discovered in Nov 2016 during workup after IDC Dx. Lumpectomy Jan 2017. (Triple positive) I also have high blood pressure, severe asthma, a kidney tumor (benign?), and an obstructed bile duct corrected after 10 surgeries.

    I declined all treatment after surgery because probable life threatening side effects and damage to my heart/lungs/pulmonary arteries/kidneys were not worth the possible benefit.

    May I ask how quickly your first heart failure came and how did you decide to start Herceptin again after the first heart failure? Thank you.
