Stopping chemotherapy due to side effects

My mother had 9/12 taxol cycles . Her last cbc report was not good . She has leucopenia with wbc 1.51 although she took 2 neupogen shots before last chemo . This week she already had high fever and many other troubles . The doctor is considering her taking the 10th one then stopping . Has anyone experienced the same ? And how much time does it take for immune system to recover ? She already had leucopenia since day 1 with taxol and even it was reduced by 20% no difference has occured , still the same leucopenia and she took many neupogen shots .

According to my MO one moth after ending taxol the immune system should be back to 100
