has anyone had symptoms of cording (tightness / pain when stretching) happen long after surgery? I had OT to address cording after my surgery over six years ago and haven’t really had any problems since then. But in the last few weeks my left arm has started hurting when Istretch - right along the “path” of where the cord was before.

Though it should not happen but you must visit your doctor to discuss about the same. It might be due to some muscle flexion at the particular site but its better to be safe than sorry. So, hurry up and see your doctor.

mcKat - if you'll go to My Profile and post your diagnosis and treatment, it will be easier for people to answer. You need to make the information public for it to show up.

Yes if you had lymph nodes out. Yes if you had radiation. I was told by my trained, certified LEPT that I'd have to stretch every single day for the rest of my life as the radiated tissue pulls back like a rubber band. Take a look at this lymphadema site. You can get LE &/or cording anytime down the road - even 25 years.
