16 year Cancerversary today

I am back ! Today I am celebrating #16 ....and never could I have imagined this day 16 years ago when I was first diagnosed ! It wasn't the Stage III that got me it was the many nodes that were involved that sat me down and took my breath away. ... but here I am .

I am healthy with N.E.D. I excercise at least 4 x week maybe more . Weights, Peloton bike, walking. I am overweight : ( .....I will attribute to my acquiring a taste for wine....in my later years. (Could be the Exemestane )I continue to take Exemestane ...I am at least into year 11 . I stopped counting . I will most probably take it until I die .

I just have to tell you ladies as I always do...be your own advocate....listen to your body ...don't do something because you have breast cancer....do it in spite of the fact you have B.C. Live your life fully !! For those who left us too young, for those unable to live fully at this moment ...for those in their last days of this wicked struggle........rise each morning thankful for a new day ..a day filled with hope and promise....because you CAN . Do NOT waste your days worrying about all the "what-ifs " ....cause I can assure you nothing you could possibly be worried about will change by your worries.

I have met some incredible ladies on this site....I always enjoy encouraging you and sharing your triumphs. Here's to another healthy year !

I believe that the Axillary Node Dissection was pivotal in my survival. Several of my nodes were deeply interwoven with cancer ..the largest being over 2cm. Although the recovery from that alone was very difficult...much worse than the Mastectomy,I am appreciative that they decided to remove all nodes found. I have not had lymphadema . I had dose dense chemo plus rads with 3 boosts at the end. I feel they hit me hard the first time....and I pray I will not ever have a repeat . But, if I do, I've had a good long run and I'm thankful !

Texgirl, thank you for posting today. I too had extranodal extension. One tumor was nearly as large as the one in my breast. Reading your comments is reassuring and inspiring. I wish you many more years of health and happiness.
