Adhesions to implants

Hi, all. Wondering if anyone else has experienced adhesions to her implants, and if so, what you did about them.

I had bilateral direct-to-implant reconstruction at the time of my BMX on 10/16/17. I had two adhesions that looked like small round bruises which appeared on one side within a month or two and which did not break free with massage. Although my implants were not the recalled Allergans, they were shaped/textured and because of this and other issues I had them switched to smooth rounds on 7/18/19.

The two adhesions recurred in almost the exact same location within a few weeks of surgery, and have also remained despite massage. It now appears that a new one is forming on the other side. My surgeon specializes in oncoplastic breast reconstruction, but this doesn't seem to be something she's seen in other patients. I'm beginning to think that my body simply doesn't like implants and is reacting negatively to them.

I'll be seeing my surgeon for a checkup in a couple of days, but wanted to reach out here in case anyone else has had a similar experience.

Many thanks in advance.

Magari - no, no knowledge of this but wanted to reach out & tell you I understand what a bummer this must be. Please keep in touch.

Thanks, Minus. It is indeed discouraging; I was hoping my most recent surgery would be my last for a very long time.

My husband said I should keep an open mind and wait to see what my surgeon says. So I'm trying to do that.

I have two spots that are sort of circular in shape that feel a little painful and if I shine a light through my boob it is clearly thicker tissue. I don't know if it is the same type of thing or not.

I'm curious to hear what my PS says about them when he does my revision next week.
