Pain after exchange

    Hi all!
I just had my exchange surgery on Monday, yea! I was virtually pain free until about 3 days out. I don’t know if I used my arm too much or what, but all of a sudden it felt like my left implant was too heavy and was pulling on something in my body? I’m 1 week post surgery now and the pain is a little better, but still there. If I hold my breast up with one hand, or cup it in the crook of my left arm to relieve pressure, there’s zero pain. There’s also been zero extra bruising or swelling around where it hurts.
Basically I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Is it “normal”? Or did I mess it up! :0(

Also- this is my first post so I hope I’m doing it right!
    thanks all!

    Hello. Welcome!

I am 3 weeks out. I was fine the first two weeks, they felt so comfortable. But after two weeks in I started getting pains and feeling uncomfortable. I think it's normal and part of recovery. But if you have any concerns at all call just to make sure.

Take it easy, don't overdo it. I know it's easier said than done lol

Thanks so much for your reply LiveLaughLove2020! Everyone I have talked to has said their exchange was so easy and painless I was concerned I had pain! Glad to hear it’s not uncommon! Excited for you to be 3 weeks out! Congrats!

I can’t believe how soft my implants are ;0) I kind of thought I’d have rock hard expander breasts forever!

You're welcome. Thank you! Congrats on getting those dreadful TE's out!! Yeah, that's what most people say and I believed for the first two weeks. I also had fat grafting with exchange and that is what caused a lot of pain.

I know, isn't it nice not to feel those bricks and feel squishy boobs?! lol I feel like mine feel a little hard again but anything is better than those TE's! :)

how are you feeling now? Have the pains gone away? my pain has gotten slightly better. I don’t know why I’m dragging my feet in calling the dr, but I probably will tomorrow or so.

    BRay:

Do you have a port on that side? The weight of the implant might be causing the skin to pull on it.

I'm fine now for the most part thanks, just twinges of pain here and there. I had a busy weekend this past weekend and over did it a little. I was in pain/so sore on Monday and Tuesday I regretted it lol but otherwise fine!

I'm glad your pain has gotten better and I hope it continues getting better!

thanks for the responses! No port. I can imagine that would be so uncomfortable.
I went to the dr yesterday and apparently I had extensive “pocket work” and I pulled a muscle by doing too much too soon... oops!

    BRay:

I'm glad you are feeling better. I had a similar pocket work experience but most of my issues resolved when my port was removed.

I've had a few twinges of discomfort here and there over the months since my surgeries. Just nerves regenerating and trying to figure out what to do with themselves I think.
