Multiple Benign Lumps?

Hello everyone!

I have a mammogram and ultrasound scheduled for February 10th to get a lump checked out. This is the 3rd I’ve found in 5 years in my left breast. Is it typical to have multiple benign masses in the same breast?

Also, just last weekend, I asked my husband to feel it to see if it felt like my other lumps. He was having trouble finding it and said it didn’t feel like much of anything. Two days later, I noticed it had already swollen in size- which leads me to believe it may be a cyst or Fibroadenoma since my other fibro swells with hormones. The new lump is more long/oval/rectangular shaped and doesn’t move around as much

Just looking for some peace of mind until I get some results. I feel mostly okay, but still worried of course.

Thank you.

Those of us who develop cysts and fibroadenomas often tend to develop lots of them. So yes, it is normal to have multiple benign masses in the same breast or in both breasts.

Hope that this one is another benign one for you!

Just wanted to update: I went in for my mammogram and ultrasound today, and as expected, they offered me a biopsy that day (which I gladly obliged). The radiologist said he saw two small cysts that were almost certainly benign, but that they were contained in a solid mass. He also some saw calcifications. He said it looks like another fibroadenoma and he'd be very, very surprised if it was anything else... especially since I have already been diagnosed with one fibroadenoma. He had a resident in the room with him, and I heard him say they were scoring it a Birads 4a and probably benign. I'm trying to hold onto that, but also still worried. It's always scary every time!! I should know by Thursday or earlier.

Is it common to have cysts inside of a fibroadenoma??
