Femara side effects and family

Does anyone else feel that their family just doesn't understand the side effects of Femara are so difficult? I feel that my joint pain is greatly affecting my life. I had a steroid shot in my knee and it helped a lot, but then the pain in my ankle and foot increased. I am continuing to walk through the pain on the treadmill and do other exercises. I have also gained weight. Which I'm sure conributes. I blame this on the Femara also. My daughter asys I am not doing enough to strengthen myself. My husband says I just complain and don't do enough to improve my problems. I exercise as stated above and take all kinds of supplements- turmeric, glucosamine chondroiton and amino acids, and others that I've read gave helped others. I feel hopeless that I have to remain on Femara for 3 more years. What will my life be like by then?

Yep, side effects suck. They were worse for me right after radiation. They are real. Sorry your family doesnt get it. But l'm curious how long have you taken the supplements. Believe it or not, you could have s e from them. My husband though not a cancer victim, suffered severe leg cramps for 15 years. Come to find out it was the glucosamine chondroitin pills that caused it!

When I was on femara the first time I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia from it. I took an antidepressant that also relieves nerve pain I think. It helped. Ask ur dr about switching aromatase inhibitors. There are 3 to choose from.

i was feeling pretty low when I posted that. I was just starting to feel more positive but then I attended a Women's Heart Health screening event. From this, I discovered my glucose and A1C numbers are high ( possibly prediabetes range) and my blood pressure was moderately high that day, which is unusual for me. I've found posts on this website about both of those being caused by Femara. Cholesterol was back to normal after starting cholestrol medication nine months ago. I've also read that high cholesterol is result of Femara. I feel that I my quality of life is so diminished by this drug.
