I was diagnosed with ADH a year ago, which puts you at higher risk for breast cancer. After freaking out, the high risk specialist recommended reducing alcohol consumption, getting to normal bmi, exercising a lot more than I would have thought, and eating veggies. But I also looked into my birth control, which was a combo estradiol/norethindrone acetate (Junel Fe), and found an article from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center that said estradiol/norethindrone acetate birth control pills were found to increase risk of breast cancer, and breast cancer is also listed in the warnings on the pillpack. So I stopped when the pack was done and informed my gynecologist and the high risk nurse. And the high risk nurse blew it off. But I feel like I was reading valid sources of info. Is it silly? Aren’t we all reading the same info?
