Stinging pain at punch biopsy site a month after biopsy.

Hi. I am new here and just have a question about the healing process after a punch biopsy. About a month ago I had a biopsy for skin changes and breast pain I had been having. The procedure went well and everything seemed to be healing just fine. (results showed chronic inflammation, but that it was just surface level.) Then last week out of the blue I started having stinging type pain at the biopsy site, as well as pain that felt like it was deeper as WELL. Biopsy was at the 9:00 position, but I am feeling pain from the 9:00 position down to the 6:00 position. Just today, I also am noticing some discoloration of the breast tissue as well around 7:00. Could this just be delayed bruising and the skin trying to heal? I do have a call into the breast clinic, but just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this.

    Dear angain,

Welcome to the BCO community. We are sorry that you are having these symptoms and can appreciate that they are bothersome. We hope that others might chime in with their experiences. You also might want to review the topics in the Not Diagnosed but Worried Forum where others may also be post biopsy. You can also use the search function to look for others having pain or other symptoms after a biopsy. When using multiple words be sure to use quotes in the search function e.g. "pain after biopsy". We are glad that you put a call in to the breast clinic as they are likely to be able to discuss your particular situation with more clarity. Keep us posted.

    Hi again angain,

We're just checking in with you to see if you've heard from your breast clinic on your bruising. Any updates?

Hi. Thank you for checking in. I did hear back. Even though it was a small area, she said it was probably the nerves "waking back up" and that was what was causing the pain. In time, it should resolve. 🙂
