Can dense breast hide lumps on ultrasound

    US is not perfect but it can show masses that are hidden in the dense breast tissue seen on mammogram.

    It can, I have dense breasts and was very grateful for my medical team in finding my lump. No one could find it on just a routine exam by the doctor. My lump was by my chest cavity, so really hard to feel. My follow up visits the person that gives me my mammograms knows this and makes sure everything on the xray can be read.
