Should I Delay my exchange surgery until after planned trip?

I have my exchange surgery scheduled for February 6th. I am going on a cruise 3 weeks later. Would it be wise to postpone the surgery until after the cruise? I want to be able to swim and I am not sure if there would be a chance of infection after the surgery.

    I was not allowed to submerge for 4 weeks after each of my surgeries, including 2 exchange surgeries. My second exchange surgery included pocket work and I was very sore, with limited arm movement and pain sleeping, at 3 weeks post of as well. YMMV!

    Same here...4 weeks minimum.

    You probably won't be able to swim or go in a hot tub. So if that's your criteria, you might postpone the trip., But by two weeks out you should certainly be comfortable going on the trip. What a way to recuperate!!!
