Random Coldness No Adjuvant Therapy

Options

It’s a very mild winter where I live.

I had a double mastectomy on December 2, no,recon, no rads, no chemo, no hormone therapy.

I have had a few instances of feeling cold, often in my legs, sometimes quite cold. I spent time this evening on the chaise with my dog, cat, and blanket. I started to warm up but the cold took over again.

Anyone else felling cold without adjuvant therapy

I remember freezing after my mastectomy, and I only had one removed! That was before I started anything else, just randomly cold cold. Not sure if it was from surgery, anesthesia, recovery, what, but it lasted a long while, months, not days. Not constant, but the slightest chill was unbearable.

Stay warm and cuddle those furries!

I've had that happen after various surgeries. I assume it's the blood supply diverting to the area that needs healing, leaving the rest of your body slightly under-supplied.

I feel the cold more now too. I can't remember if it started before or after surgery. My nose often feels cold. Weird. Thinking back (before dx) I started with increased forgetfulness, night sweats. I was going to talk to gyno when I saw her about these things but then got dx. Putting off seeing her until tx is finished.

I felt exactly the same way after my BMX. I was constantly freezing. Once, I asked my sister if she thought it would snow and she said I don't think so, it's 50 degrees! I contributed to losing weight but took about a year to totally resolve.

KID - I love my heated throw. Not sure how I ever lived w/o it since I've always been cold. And always lived with DH & son who thought the house should be 62 degrees. I agree about the nose. I HATE it when my nose gets cold. I actually asked my son for a 'nose warmer' a couple of years ago and he found some knitted nose cover for me. May look silly but at least I don't have to keep my head under the covers.

I had bmx in August 2019 and I still have issues with getting cold. It’s random, but pretty frequent. I had no radiation, chemo or hormone therapy.

MyDog - I ordered my hand warmer at Amazon. Called Dolphin Hand Warmer + Mobile Power Supply (cord). Found it under 'rechargeable hand warmers'. It's rechargeable with you phone too I believe. Model H1712. It's "double sided hot".
