Hello,

Please, please, share your experience with eggs/embryos freezing. Since my tumor was ER+, I'm scared even to think about hormone injection. What was your estrogen level during this procedure? I am 39 and have no kids. Does it worth to try?

I froze embryos immediately after being diagnosed at 31. I was hesitant because at the time I wanted to start chemo as quickly as possible. (That's an understatement, I was FREAKING out over whether to do it or not.) Also, I was 31 (married) and didn't even like kids. In the end, I am glad I did it. Especially now three years later, now that I've been unsuccessfully trying "naturally" to get pregnant after going off Tamoxifen - Looks like I'm going to have to resort to those embryos I almost didn't freeze.

That said I understand, it was terrifying delaying treatment and injecting myself with all those hormones after having an ER+ PR+ tumor (I think I was like 98% ER+ and my tumor was a grade 3, Stage 2a) but my doctor at Dana-Farber said waiting 3 weeks to get all that done wouldn't impact me in the long term, but that I had to do it quickly. I was SO on the cusp, literally I almost backed out. I can't speak for you on what to do. But I know you're scared and cancer is at the forefront of your mind, but ask you doctor honestly if they think it's safe. I don't know your treatment plan or anything (have you started treatment yet at all?) but what you're doing is giving yourself options for the future so that you hopefully won't ever find yourself in a couple years, past your current state of fear, and considering kids family...with no backup plan. Things change. Hopefully all for the better...
