SSRIs and brain mets?

Hi there,

I have been on Lexapro for several years (before my dx). I recently came across a few studies/reports that talked about the increased possibility of brain mets when using SSRIs, due to the effect they have on the blood brain barrier.

Has anyone else read or been told about this, by their doctor or someone else? Or discussed it with their doctor(s)? I mentioned it yesterday to my OB/GYN who has specialty in breast cancer, and she definitely acknowledged it, but also said that because of it's rare occurrence, quality of life might override the knee-jerk reaction to stop taking the medication.

Thoughts on this (besides it being yet another thing we get to deal with?!!!
