Nerve Regeneration 3 years Post Bilateral M?

I’m reposting this from a different forum in order to see if other folks have had these symptoms with nerve pain.

Hello, it's been 3 years since my diagnosis; I'm 46 and starting to have pain in various areas. I know nerves can regenerate and cause searing pain, and tbh... I've been calmly dealing with it. However, today I found a small bead-like bump near my first excision site. Cue anxiety.

Regarding pain... it started out in my left buttock. Not a typical sciatica pain; but almost like a bruised feeling. That started 5 months ago and is mild. It hurts when I sit or move a certain way. No big deal. Then came the pins and needles on the same leg. This November I started getting those sharp nerve pains in my back. This last week I started experiencing sharp stabbing pains above my right ear on my scalp. Pickax style. Two days ago, my middle back locked up and I was in excruciating pain for 5 seconds. Yesterday, it happened a 2nd time. It was terrifying. I've never had back issues in my life. And today, an area on my breast kept itching (more than usual) ... so I sat up to get better feel of it, and there's an oval bead just under the scar. It's my old lumpectomy scar ... not my mastectomy scar.

I've got an appointment with my GP in February for my back/butt/nerves... etc. But now I'm freaking out about this bump. Has anyone gone through similar symptoms? Hoping I'm just getting old and having aches and pains.... in the geriatric kind of way. And NOT in the cancer recurrence kind of way

Hey Im sorry you are having these issues. First I think you should stick to one thread. Multiple threads are confusing for others who might can help you. One person wont know if what they are telling you has already been said. Its best to stick to the same thread.

Second, it sounds like you have multiple issues going on. If I felt a pebble on one of my scars I would try to get into my primary doctor or breast doctor as soon as I could. Your primary doctor will order exams or biopsy for that. Your primary doctor can also order xrays on your back and chest or ribs or wherever you are hurting.

I hope you feel better soo

Are you on an AI? I get lots of pains all over the place. I think it's the Letrozole exacerbating my arthritis.

hi Trinigirl, no... I'm not on AI. The only thing that's hindering my hormones is an anti-estrogen Mirena IUD... I have Heavy periods and my onc said it was safe. Thank you for responding... my doctor's appointment can't come soon enough!

I came here today with the hope of seeing what others were saying about this issue. I am almost three years out from my bilateral mastectomy and am having aching pain in my right breast. Nothing I need to take pain meds for but definitely sore. Anyone else have any idea what it could be. My regular oncologist appt got moved to July due to Covid-19
