What does this mean?

I'm just wrapped up my 6th round of chemo therapy. Finished 4 dose dense AC and am headed onto round 7 of Taxol next week.
I got my blood work back from this last week's round and am startled to see my platelet levels are at 464 and my ALT is also elevated at 71. I did a bit of research and Taxol can cause elevated liver enzyme results, but I'm confused about my high platelet counts. They have always been in the normal mid-200s range.

I can't stop crying and panicking that this means something awful. Has anyone experienced high platelet counts? If so, what does it mean?

Hi vmb. I'm not an expert, but it is not uncommon for platelet counts to rise in women who have breast cancer - it mildly increases risk of a blood clot but no need to panic. Next time you go in for treatment see if you can get time with the MO to talk about that + the ALT, and ask as many questions as you need. This whole process is pretty scary and I wish you the best.
