My original report after my mammogram was basically benign with asymmetry noted in my upper right breast. I was called for an ultrasound. Then I was called back and said they did the wrong breast can I come back in for another ultrasound. At the ultrasound the radiologist came in and said there was a mass on my right breast and they needed to do the ultrasound for that. The tech went over my breast and couldn't find anything. Then she got the radiologist and he couldn't either. He said he didn't know why they didn't see it but I still need to go to a breast specialist. Okay so I got my reports and his initial report mentions NOTHING about a mass. Am I crazy to think they could have mixed me up with someone else? Should I go to the office and ask them to explain tomorrow? I don't have a breast specialist apt until next week and I'm just confused. The ULTRASOUND report said I needed to comr back because a mass was found on my breast. But why was no mass mentioned in the original mammogram report HE the radiologist signed off on? I'm getting too conspiracy theory here? It would explain why they couldn't find the mass on Ultrasound would it not. And would that not be a huge mess up.. maybe wishful thinking because of course I hope there's not actually a mass there but this paperwork makes no sense. Why a mass was not mentioned until the ULTRASOUND report. Again the mammogram report was clear except the asymmetry in the upper right breast.... Is it common for the radiologist to sign off on an original report then go back and change his review? I just don't get it

sounds confusing but I would go to breast specialist and get an mri for piece of mind. Mri much better than mammogram and US. And I found a mistake on my mri report. Didn’t match US report. I told breast surgeon and she didn’t believe me. Went back to radiologist and they agreed and amended report.

Hi there. I just looked through your other posts and it seems like they're being thorough and looking for an explanation for the nipple discharge. "No architectural distortion" is a good finding but seems like you PM'd DJMammo and he's the expert. One thing to keep in mind is that mammograms and ultrasounds use different technologies so it's not unusual to get different findings. But if a biopsy has been recommended I'd personally schedule that no matter what the scans show. Sorry you are having this scare and let us know how it turns out - wishing you the best.
