Joint pain w/tamoxifen but not AIs?

I wonder If anyone has had experience with this. I had to stop taking tamoxifen because of severe joint pain.I took 20 MG for two years before I couldn’t stand it. I took a year off and my joint pain resolved quickly. When that study on the low-dose tamoxifen came out my MO prescribed 5 mg, but I didn’t even make it a year before it came back. I am 51 yo and had DCIS 4 years ago and I am still getting periods, although I think I am in perimenopause.

Because AIs have such a reputation as having joint pain be such a major side effect and tamoxifen doesn’t typically seem to cause joint pain as much as AIs, I always assumed I would still have the same bad joint pain with AIs. Has anyone else experienced a lack of joint pain on AIs when they did have it with tamoxifen? When I do go into menopause I’m not sure whether to risk it or not.

I was on Aramidex for 4 years. Joint pain made me stop. Was on tamoxifen for 7 months. Joint pain made me quit. Currently on letrozole, have joint pain, not bad enough to make me stop.
