Recovery post chemo and Herceptin

I finished Taxol in Jan 2019 and Herceptin in 2019, however, my blood counts are all still very low. ANC, WBC, hemoglobin and hematocrit. Last month I got a terrible sinus infection and cough that required antibiotics.

Thought I'd be on the mend by now. What are others' experiences? Am I going to have a "new normal" now? Oncologist did folate, B12, and Iron tests recently to see if that was the issue. They were on the low side but not below the limits.

Thoughts?

My first thought is protein. It's the beginning of so much of blood production. I pushed it really hard through chemo and I know it helped. I had cut back when I was down to Herceptin only and found I was feeling a little weird on treatment days. I started eating beef the two nights before treatment days and felt *much* better.

thank you for your reply. My protein levels themselves are normal, although I'm a vegetarian. Perhaps you're right though. Maybe I'll up my instake of foods with protein and see if that doesn't help.

It took about 8 months PFC for my blood counts to return to pre chemo levels.
