CMF Chemo and Cool Cap

Options

Hello

I just had my first CMF Chemo treatment. Even though i was told i would get hair thinning, i already have thin hair and i am trying to look as normal as possible infront of my 11 and 13 year old girls. I was wondering if anyone else has used the cool cap with cmf chemo regimen and if it worked for you.

Thank you.

There are lots of threads about cold caps. Just put that in the search window.

I will say that it's been my experience that the first treatment is a loading dose and often stronger - or at least it jolts your body which has never seen this stuff. I did put ice (frozen peas) on my fingernails from the first infusion, but didn't do my toes until the 2nd treatment. I had problems with both big toe nails detaching. I don't know if cold capping is as useful after treatment has started.

hello and thank you so much for your reply. I wasn’t clear, I am using the cold cap. Just wondering how affective it will be with cmf. But I will definitely look at other threads

    hi there,

did you end up doing the cold cap with CMF? I'm considering doing the same and wondered what your experience was like. Thanks!

rollercoaster - this thread has been inactive since 2019 so it's not likely you'll get a response. If you go to the 'search' function and look up cold capping you'll find lots of current threads.
