Canker sores and drinking

So I’ve been on the Ibrance/Letrozole combo since June, with a few breaks from Ibrance due to low neutrophils.

I had bitten my lip a few weeks back, and I got one heck of a canker sore that took its sweet time healing.

I hadn’t had wine since the beginning of the year, even before I was diagnosed. I had decided just to stop having any on my own, no medical reason for it.

For Thanksgiving week I decided to have a glass of Chardonnay. My canker sore had finally healed. All of a sudden, after that glass of wine, I started with canker sores where I hadn’t caused them by biting my lip. I didn’t think much of it and had one more glass with a friend when we went to dinner on a different day. I ended up with two under my tongue and three more in various spots around my mouth.

I can’t say for certain, but I’m almost certain the wine caused them, so I will no longer be drinking alcohol. I can’t tell you how much pain I’ve been in the last two weeks from them. The two under my tongue keep hitting my teeth.

I just thought I’d let anyone know who gets them regularly and drinks that this could be the cause. Again, I’m not a doctor, so I may be totally off, but I’m not willing to take the chance again.

I love bing cherries and always got them when I ate them, but I hadn’t had any in a long time.
