I got my biopsy results and they came back positive for a benign phyllodes tumor. My dr wants to have a watch and wait approach, I’m not ok with it. All the literature I’ve read states even benign phyllodes should be surgically removed with wide margins. I’m 46 and this mass has doubled in size since last year. I’m in the process of getting an appointment with a phyllodes specialist at Sloan Kettering. Very frustrating that the dr I am seeing, who is new to me, won’t listen when I request it be removed. Even a growing Fibroadenoma should likely be removed at my age. Anyone else w any experience w phyllodes? From what I’ve read, they are pretty rare, so I’m wondering if the small community hospital I’ve been going to even has any experience with them
