itching,burning,pain in armpit/chest

Options

My Bc was in 2015 and 16. I've never had any issues with my armpit. I had a dbl mastectomy with reconstruction. The last few months I've had a lot of itching and pain in my armpit. along with pain on the inside of my arm and outside of chest where like my arm would rub. my sternum has been bothering me and just started having pain on my non cancerous side and pit. I'm concerned! scared! I've changed nothing (soap, deodorant ect) not sure to see a Dr and when? I have an appt. in Jan with oncologist do I wait or see someone sooner? and if so who general Dr BC surgeon or oncology so confused!!

Conventional wisdom is that if a pain lasts longer than 2 weeks, see a doc. You don't show your history so we have no idea what docs you might already know or what treatment you might have had.

My first choice is always my GYN simply because she's intelligent & perceptive and knows me. Second would be an oncologist. Surgeon's cut - that's what they're trained for. You need a diagnostician. But again, you may have a stellar relationship with a BS.

In January this year, I started with itching and pain in armpit on the non cancer side. I’d had bmx 7 years earlier no recon. Mentioned it to MO, he poked around, ordered pet/ct.

I lit up with 7 positive nodes.

Get into your MO. I’m now considered stage IV on ibrance and letrozole.

Definitely get it checked. I would call MO. Keep us posted.

I've had itching that comes and goes. I haven't had pain though. I'm suspecting (and hope I'm not wrong) that nerves continue to regenerate and itching = healing. Not always the case, but so far, mine has not lasted for weeks. Do let us know how things go for you.
