Axillary cording without axillary lymph node biopsy or surgery ?
Hi all,
I am awaiting to see a plastic surgeon next week to go for immediate breast reconstruction post bilateral mastectomy. I was diagnosed with DCIS on my right breast last year and had a lumpectomy followed by radiation therapy (16 sessions). I had a genetic test and found out I was a BRCA2 mutation gene carrier right before radiation started. I have been followed by genetic team in high risk program then another or recurrence (?) of DCIS close to the site that I had a lumpectomy last year was found by MRI and MRI guided biopsy (mammogram was clear though) this year. Now I agreed to go for bilateral mastectomy and immediate breast reconstruction, given my genetic status with BRCA2 mutation carrier.
A few days ago, I palpated like a thin string in my right armpit and I was scared something happened to axillary lymph nodes from DCIS. I have been in uncomfortable pain around right breast radiating my armpit since I had a biopsy on Oct 21, 2019. I figured out it could happen (Axillary web syndtome) after Sentinel biopsy or ALND but I had only lumpectomy and radiation last year and biopsy this year.
Did anyone have similar experiences with me ?

Thanks for the kind reply. I guess this is a rare case happens after breast biopsy done. What I can imagine as per anatomy of lymph nodes that I have searched in is that the cording could have been developed by lymph node(s) which was(were) close to the biopsy site (right upper outer anterior third) in my case as there are lymph nodes in outer side of breast as well other than axillary lymph nodes.
The appointment that I supposed to see a plastic surgeon has been delayed to a later date on Dec 11 as I have to see two surgeons (PS & OS) together prior to the surgery.
I will update you in case this informations can be helpful to someone.

Just to update the coding has gone about 10 days after. I was seen by my OS and PS yesterday. MyOS said that it could be related from scar of the biopsy on Oct. 21. She would not be worried.
