Late side effects.

Options

Hi all. This is my first post and I am in the U.K. I have used this site many times looking for answers etc.

I was diagnosed August 2017 with IDC which was oestrogen+8 and HER2+. There was no node involvement. I had a sentinel node biopsy which was also clear. The lump was only 8mm and clear margins. Because it was small and found early I escaped chemo and had 15 fractions of radiotherapy. I had a WLE but had to lose nipple as lump was to near to save it.

I started Arimidex (called Anastrazole in UK) straight away. Dexa scan showed I was just osteoporotic (age related they said) First year was fine. Had the odd aching wrist and finger but I do a lot of craft work and could well have been that. Also at 66 it could just be age. Had 2nd year mammiversary August this year which was clear.

The last couple of months I have been having intermittent aches in my wrists, hips, pelvis, back, shoulders and ankles and both sides, not just affected side. Last week I had the final bit of nipple reconstruction and had the 3D tattoo. I mentioned the aches etc to the surgeon and she is now arranging a bone scan just to rule out anything nasty. There are many reasons for all the aches and pains I’m having but can’t help feeling a bit scared whilst waiting. I am sure I read at somewhere that you can get late side effects with Anastrazole and they can suddenly come on. I have been on the same generic brand-Teva- for 2 years although when away 2 weeks ago chemist gave me Accord. 3 days later awful back pain so when I cam home I went back to Teva. Pain not so bad but there might be some Accord still lurking in the body. The other areas that had been aching didn’t get any worse of better.

Sorry this is a long post but wanted to give you the low down. Please can anyone tell if they know of late side effects of Anastrazole or did I just dream it.

I had a Zolendronic infusion in July this year after various attempts at oral bisophonates but couldn’t tolerate them.

Many thanks for any help. xxx
