Bump that comes and goes

Options

In September, I noticed a tiny lump under my mastectomy scar on the right side, which was the cancer side. My skin was actually a little itchy and splotchy and that is what drew my attention to that area. I saw the breast surgeon a few weeks later and he sent me for an ultrasound. They couldn't see anything on the ultrasound. It's also so small that you can really only feel it if you check it in the shower with soap on your hands or put lotion on your fingers. Fast forward, now I have had two times where the area has been a little itchy and I have looked down to see what looks almost like a welt or bite on the area. With it happening the first time, I was thinking maybe it could literally have been a bite, but now a second time in exactly the same spot seems like there is no way it is a bite. It goes away after about 15 or so minutes. I took a picture of it and am going to call the breast surgeon back, but am curious to know if anyone has experienced anything like this.

Thanks!

I did, and got an US ordered by my PS and it turned out to be nothing. I hope yours does, too. I felt it for a few days and then couldn't find it anymore, but my PS is a good guy and wanted it checked out anyway. It relieved a lot of fear.

Consider taking pictures of it so you have them to show your doctor. Cancer wise, if it was cancer, it would come and stay, not come and go, so the fact that it is intermittent is good......but any lump or welt creates stress.

Thanks, Claire - glad yours turned out to be fine! I'm hoping I can trust the ultrasound on mine and that it is fine, too!

KBeee - Thanks! I did take a picture of the welt part that comes and goes and showed it to my gyn who suggested I call the breast surgeon so he can look at the picture, too. I think I've been avoiding doing that over the last week because I want to just believe the ultrasound, but...I will contact them. I know I will regret it if I ignore it and it turns out to be something later on. The one on the outside of my skin comes and goes, but the small lump under my skin is there all the time.
