I have been thinking about this also after reading another post. I have read that a MRI can give more information about soft tissue, muscles, cartilage etc in addition to bones. After that they do a bone scan and if that is positive a pet scan?? Since starting Tamoxifen there are days I ache all over.

MRI will give the most detailed reason for it, but bone scan is often used for bone pain too. I had iliac pain and an MRI was ordered. Unfortunately they did the lumbar spine the first time, so once they realized teh error a week later, I had to have the pelvis one. That was frustrating. It was not cancer though, so it was worth it.
