Lesion on nipple 1/2 nipple removal surgery

Hi I have had a lesion on my nipple for over a year, the Radiologist thinks it may be Padgett's of the nipple, the surgeon doesn't think so, however he is removing half of my nipple. I am scared to death. Anyone have experience with this surgery? I have had blood coming from the nipple I am just about 60 years old. The mammogram looks OK, there is thickening on the side of the nipple per Ultrasound. Please share if of you have had this surgery.
