Rogaine, Nioxin, biotin...

Is anyone using anything other than Rogaine, Nioxin or biotin to grow their hair back? Have they worked?

A friend gave me a Nioxin set that she bought from her hairdresser and was told that I needed to start using it immediately. I am still going through chemo right now. I saw that both the shampoo and conditioner contained parabens so I will not be using them but may try the scalp treatment that does not.

Oh no, it does have parabens. I am going to stop using it.

I'm betting that the stuff that does anything is the bottle that doesn't have the parabens anyway. I really think any safe shampoo and conditioner would work in place of the other two bottles. Ther important thing is to keep shampooing when you lose your hair to keep your scalp clean and ther rubbing is good for stimulating your follicles and keep them from plugging up.

I used Nioxin shampoo, conditioner, and scalp treatment for chemically treated hair during chemo (because my hair was being chemically treated from the inside out) and switched to the regular Nioxin until my hair was back to normal. It came back just as thick and as nice as it had been before treatment. (This is what my beautican recommended.)
