CT guided lung biposy

Options

Hi all,

I don’t post much but find this site so valuable. I had a follow up CT last week to check on 2 (4mm) nodules in the lung. My MO was not concerned. I had neoadjuvant chemo last winter/spring 2019. The original CT was December 2018. My follow up CT showed a 1cm lesion. Only 10 months have passed. MO wants me to have a CT guided lung biopsy. I am terrified. Scheduled for this Wed, October 30th. MO didn’t seem concerned but wants me to have CT. Hard for me to imagine metastasis this quickly. Maybe a new primary ling cancer? But that’s seems fast too?

I hate how this disease messes with your mind. I’m desperate for words of encouragement.

Here’s hoping the biopsy procedure tomorrow is uneventful!

It’s good your doctors are getting a tissue sample for pathology - that is the only way to determine whether the spot is metastatic, a new primary or something else, perhaps benign?

This may not be very comforting but we have lots of ways to treat breast cancers which have spread. Maybe they can do genomic testing, to see if there is a specific mutation to target. Results with some of those therapies have been astonishing. Let us know how things go.

Thanks all for your encouragement. The biopsy was a breeze. Just a small incision in my back and it was done in 10 minutes. Waiting for results still. Lots of anxiety. I have not had tumor markers checked. I’m praying no news is good news. My pathology results from original diagnosis came back the next day after biopsy. This has been 3 days now. Ugh. I hate hate hate this disease.

Kodabear1 - I’m so sorry to hear of all you are going through (((hugs))))I can certainly empathize. The waiting is so terribly hard . I’m thinking of you and hoping you get your results in soon and that they are favorable ❤️

I was just diagnosed with ILC through an US guided biopsy. Next step is an MRI on both breasts on Nov 5th as I’m learning ILC is sneaky so I’m assuming that’s why an MRI was ordered. A lumpectomy is scheduled for November 19 (the week of my daughter’s birthday 💔)

I’m so frozen in fear right now even though all the docs tell me it seem early stage - these symptoms I’m having are so worrisome. I can’t sleep most nights due to shortness of breath and chest pain(learning about pleural effusions)I’ve been to the ER twice once in April and then again Oct - have had 1,chest CT scan(back in April )2 chest X-rays( all clear)I’ve told all my docs about these symptoms- I would NOT say they are brushing the symptoms off . In fact both the oncologist and My PCP are more than willing to order another CT scan for my chest if my insurance will cover it to give me some peace of mind . At the same time none of my doctors seem overly worried about these symptoms , which is somewhat relieving .They know I’ve suffered with anxiety and depression for a long time and think that these symptoms have more to do with that . My surgeon also thinks there’s a lot of peri menopause stuff going on . The oncologist says I’m VERY tense and thinks there’s a lot of muscle tension going on.

I have post in “diagnosed waiting in test results “ called “terrified continued” . I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve gotten in this forum. Having another down day after another sleepless night and again welcoming input and words wisdom 💜thank you

Hi all. Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, the nodule is benign. It is a Granuloma. The waiting was so difficult but I suppose this is my new normal. Thanks for your support and encouragement.
