Possible rib and spine mets

Hello everyone

From the day my mom diagnosed with cancer I often visit this site and discuss things with all the beautiful saviours . Thanks to all of you brave souls who always gives us hope and share ur experience with me. Once again I need hope and some guidance regarding the diagnosis of my mother.

My mom was having pain in her left hip and leg after 2 weeks in pain she decided to consult with her onc about possible recurrence .she ordered an MRI in the month of September , which was clear. Before that she had a CT on July 19 which was also clear . The pain was still in there when she came to visit me in the country where I live. The pain make me concerned and I took her to the orthopedic for treatment I thought it is may be due to Arthritis on 5th Oct He ordered 1,blood work 2, spine X_ Ray 3, bone scan .

The X -ray was clear but the bone scan showed abnormalities. The finding were stated as

Rib lesion ( Effect of surgery?/metastatic?) Involving above mentioned site.

Vertebral lesion (Arthritic?/Metastatic?) Involving L5.

Radiological correlation is suggested.

Now I don't know which of theses scan is true The CT and MRI and X-ray was all clear from bone mets respectively on July , September and October but the bone scan on October showed theses abnormalities.

My question is , is any one of you had any similar experiences , can a bone scan be turned out as false positive .
