Seroma development five years after lumpectomy

Options

Is it unusual for a seroma to develop FIVE YEARS after lumpectomy? The medical literature says these can form "up to a year" after surgery but the doc said "we see this all the time."

Hi there. You won't find anything on a 5 yr post op seroma! Did you injure yourself unknowingly maybe? I am pretty sure I bumped my breast this past March well after surgery and I have one now that is not going away. You're the 1st person I've seen here that developed a seroma well beyond a surgery. I can only imagine it's caused from something happening to the tissue/scar tissue in there.
