Distinguishing between scar tissue and something worrisome

Does anyone know a good way to distinguish between scar tissue and a new lump that should warrant a scan?

I am just so tired of having to see my oncologist for every single thing. I had a lump about 2 months after my exchange surgery that they determined to be postsurgical changes.

Now I'm a year out from my exchange surgery and have a hard but seemingly slightly movable pea sized lump between the rib and the edge of the implant on the bottom/underside of the breast. I'm really not looking forward to having to go through ultrasound, MRI etcetera only to be told it's yet more postsurgical changes.

Hi. It's the worst when every little new thing makes you think wtf is that?

I didn't have a MX but can tell you somehow I managed to get a seroma in my left breast 17 months after surgery! It showed up on an MRI and the only distinction I got from my BS is that tumors when felt usually don't move. This thing in my breast hurts a little some of the time and sometimes I can't feel it at all. When I do feel it, it's very moveable. That's eases my mind a quite a bit.

I would also jot down when this started. Sometimes that helps me distinguish if I really need to call the Dr. or not. using the 2 week rule, or if that thing does anything crazy, like get bigger. Best wishes to you that's it's nothing more than scar tissue that may have gotten harder over time.
