Blood results

Options

All results in range except for Chloride 107 (just over) ALK Phos 115 and Anion Gap 14. Vit D not back yet. Calcuim actually much lower 9.3 and not up in the low 10's. Should I worry? I see MO on Monday.

Hi blood chloride is most often from dehydration. If the chloride is off, Anion Gap will often be off. My docs do not look at Anion Gap other than in patients in the hospital where they are closely monitoring electrolytes. My doc uses 120 as the high level for ALK Phos, so your number is within the normal range. Always discuss results with your doc, but nothing there looks too worisome.

Thank you KB. I didn't know what Anion Gap was 'til yesterday! I had a head cold a couple of weeks ago and as that got better and as usually happens with me-once I stop medicating myself I get an upset stomach. The day or even that night before (can't quite remember) that blood draw, I had some mild D. I believe that would explain it. Wonder if the Alk Phos. Could also be from cold medicine? Although I think the last dose I took was at least 4-5 days prior. Will see what Dr thinks. Hopefully not much! Thanks again. Still learning all this stuff!
