    Hi!

    Healthy 35 year old female...do have family history of breast cancer on my mothers side. Aunt had breast cancer on my mothers side and passed away at the age of 45.

    Was surprised to hear that i have cysts in my report! The intial reccomendation was to come back in 6 months for a followup sono/mamo.

    I am a bit of a worry wort so i sent it to Memorial Sloan Kettering 2nd opinion department and they recommended that i get sonogram done by them on my left breast.

    It appears that my left breast has the more complex cyst situation going on:

    left breast:
    1:30, 3 cm from nipple, there is a wider than tall circumscribed cluster of microcysts versus fibrocystic nodule measuring 8 x 3 x 14 mm. No penetrating vascularity.
    3 o'clock, 5 cm from nipple, there is an oval circumscribed 4 mm cyst with debris versus nodule. No penetrating vascularity.

    Can anyone settle my nerves and help me better understand this? Is having debris a problem? Is that micro cysts area large.....? Just wondering why i need this second sono.

    I also have super dense breasts.

    Any Insight? Thanks so much!

    In this report, what was their conclusion / Birads and what was their recommendation? MSK is a well respected institution so I can't help but think if you needed a biopsy etc they would have told you. The recommendation portion of their report should answer most of your questions.

    =====

    Is having debris a problem?

    No

    Is that micro cysts area large?

    No

    Just wondering why i need this second sono.

    Many second opinion services will ask you to come in for an exam
