Cold capping

I have to start chemo in a few weeks and obviously have been doing a lot of research and trying to have my pros and cons lined up. My concern about cold capping is that the chemo will not be effective in the areas exposed to the cold. (Isn't it the idea for it not to be effective on the areas with hair follicles?). If so, can some cancer cells "hide" in those areas and "avoid" the chemo?

I hope what I am asking makes sense because I am not even sure if it is supposed to be a concern 🤷♀️

It is so rare for cancer to be in hair follicles I wouldn't worry about it same for icing hands and feet.

I cold capped with only partial success so I'm sure some of the chemotherapy got in to my scalp.
