I found a large, hard lump in my left breast... was seen at my doctor's office on wednesday at 9am. She was quite concerned about it, and sent a requisition for an urgent mammogram to my local hospital (peace arch in white rock). I have yet to receive a call for an appointment (I should add I called the physicians office back to confirm my phone #, and they assured me as soon as they received the date they would call me assp).

How long have you ladies had to wait for your urgent mammogram after being seen at the doctor's? I'm of course going crazy with worry and just want to get it over with.

Thank you <3

white rock- hi, in the US many mammogram facilities take walk-ins, and in my experience there was virtually no lead time to get an appt. Im in a fairly well populated area, so it may vary for more rural areas. Also, the patient typically makes the appts here, not the Dr office.

You may want to update your post title to specify Canada (assuming that's where you are?) So the Canadian ladies can share.

Good luck! Hopefully it's something benign.

If you know where your doc sent the request, call them and see if they have an opening and/or ask to be called with a cancellation.
